HIE Use Case Design

HIE Use Cases describe how an organization will use HIE to exchange a specific set of documents with its trading partners. Two example use cases are shown below.

Your HIway Account Manager will work with your project team to identify, design, and develop HIE Use Cases suitable for your organization. These use cases will define the document types that will be exchanged, and the workflows to be implemented at the sending and receiving organizations. 

With advice from your Account Managers, your team will plan use cases based on the HIE Use Case Planning Form. This form will guide you through the design process. Additional tools for developing HIE Use Cases are available in the HIE Use Case Toolkit.
